A Day of Cars, Community, and Compassion: Show and Shine for Second Chance
Brampton, ON – October 5, 2025
“For many, a pet is the only other heartbeat in their home,” said Richard Gosling, President of the Second Chance Scholarship Foundation. “By supporting these students, we’re helping create a ripple effect of care that benefits animals and our communities.”
Sheridan College’s Davis Campus was filled with excitement as this year’s Show & Shine for Second Chance brought together car enthusiasts, families, students, and community partners for a day celebrating classic cars, good food, and a great cause.
Hosted by the Second Chance Scholarship Foundation, Sheridan College, and Georgetown Cruise, the event featured 200 classic and collector cars on display. From polished vintage models to high-powered muscle cars, there was something for everyone to admire. The Georgetown Cruise team was instrumental in making the day a success, helping unite the car community in support of a cause that truly matters.
The Peel Police K9 Unit and Bomb Squad put on incredible demonstrations that kept everyone watching closely. With music playing, great food, and plenty of smiles, the campus was full of energy from start to finish.
The 50/50 raffle added to the fun, giving everyone a chance to win while supporting a great cause. All proceeds went toward the $10,000 in scholarships for two students in Sheridan’s Animal Care Program, helping them continue their studies and make a difference for animals and the people who care for them.
A big thank you to Sheridan College, Peel Police, Toronto Police, Brampton Fire, our volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make the day such a success. And an extra thank you to the Georgetown Cruise team for their incredible support and dedication to giving back to the community.
Together, we proved that when the community comes together with compassion and purpose, everyone wins. Thank you for helping us keep the engine of opportunity running for students who are working to make the world a little kinder, one paw at a time.
