Programs
Platinum Dinner programs
Dedicated volunteers attend at various youth detention centres for our Platinum Dinner program. We provide the youth with culturally diverse meals as well as provide various workshops, presentations and mentoring to the youth. We also provide a Platinum Holiday Dinner in December and attend both on Christmas Eve and New Years’ Eve. We are advised by the youth and the youth centre staff that the holidays are when the youth are emotionally vulnerable and in need of our visits more than usual.
Some of the special guests who have attended and spoken to the youth at our dinners include: Anchor of CBC News Dwight Drummond; spoken word artist and entrepreneur Dwayne Morgan; retired NBA player Jamaal Magloire; R & B Singer Jully Black; author Austin Clarke; and many more.
